With the growing demand for electricity in the transport sector, not least due to the increasing number of electric vehicles, Tempcon Group is taking new steps to secure a sustainable energy supply. Through investments in solar power installations, we are now producing a significant share of our own electricity – while also contributing to a more sustainable energy system.
In 2024, our solar power installations have generated 737 MWh of renewable electricity, of which 136 MWh has been fed back into the grid to support the availability of renewable energy. To put this into perspective – 136 MWh is equivalent to the annual household electricity consumption of seven homes. Solar energy is a key part of our sustainability efforts and helps us reduce the carbon footprint of our operations.
Several of our subsidiaries, including Klimat-Transport, PL Fraktservice, and Widriksson Logistik, have already invested in solar energy. And more is on the way – Syd Frys’ new warehouse in Hyllinge, set to be completed in 2025, will be equipped with solar panels to further increase our self-produced renewable electricity.
At the same time, we are working to improve our energy efficiency and ensure that the electricity we purchase is as sustainable as possible.
Through initiatives like these, Tempcon Group is actively taking responsibility for driving the transition towards a more sustainable transport industry.
