Tempcon Norrland and Food Cargo, both subsidiaries of the Tempcon Group, are taking another significant step towards sustainable temperature-controlled transport in Norrland. By investing in a fully electric truck, they can offer customers a fossil-free and quiet transport solution for chilled and frozen foods.
The new truck, a Volvo FM Electric model, is a fully electric vehicle with a range of approximately 300 kilometres and a total weight of 28 tonnes. It is ideal for urban environments, featuring a slightly lower cabinet height and quiet electric operation, which will contribute to cleaner air in our cities. The new truck will be used for deliveries of chilled and frozen food six days a week for several of Tempcon Norrland’s customers.
– This investment is an important step in our journey towards more sustainable transport, says Fredrik Persson, CEO of Tempcon Norrland. With the new electric truck, we can offer our customers in northern Sweden a zero-emission transport solution for chilled and frozen foods. By maximising the utilisation of the truck, we can contribute to a more sustainable society while meeting customer expectations for efficient and environmentally friendly transport.
Investing in the new electric truck is part of Tempcon Group’s long-term goal to increase the share of sustainable transport within food logistics. With this vehicle, the Tempcon Group now has four fully electric heavy-duty trucks in operation, demonstrating the Group’s ambition to lead the transition to a greener transport sector.
